D.I.Y Tuesday

This morning at Play Out Ipswich the preschool children were talking about fixing and building whilst playing in the construction area.

Nic asked if anyone had used any tools like hammers, screw drivers etc. A couple of the boys responded ” I can i’m big and strong’ , ” I help my dad, I have to wear shoes, ouchy on my toe”

We then sat at the table and used the shapes to make a picture by hammering in the nails. We discussed how we must hold the hammers, what the risks were and what might happen if the nails were to go on the floor.

The children did amazing, I think we have health and safety officers in the making!
